About Jens

I offer coaching & mentoring services to:

  • Adults — particularly those who suspect or have a diagnosis of neurodivergence (e.g. ADHD/ADD, high-IQ, “wired differently”) — seeking clarity, purpose, productivity, and a values-aligned path forward
  • Mid-career professionals and executives navigating crisis, career transition, burnout or identity shifts
  • Individuals facing major life changes (layoffs, health-related leaves, existential doubts) and wanting to reorient with confidence
  • Those seeking to rediscover what gives them joy, align their work and life with their true wiring, and build resilience

Discovering that I was “wired a bit differently” — after decades leading international institutions — reshaped both how I see myself and how I coach. It helped me recognise the drive, empathy and creativity that underlay my career — and also the hidden toll it sometimes took.

Today I’m a Swiss certified coach and mentor and a seasoned executive & career coach (based in Geneva), helping mid-career professionals — especially those who don’t fit the conventional mould — to find clarity, rebuild confidence, and chart meaningful, realistic next steps. I am also an internal person of trust, advising individuals and organisations on improving.

My Coaching Focus & What I Offer:

  • Self-awareness & Clarity — We explore what’s really going on beneath the surface: patterns, anxieties, strengths, values. Together, we unpack what you truly want — not what you think you “should” want.
  • Self-acceptance & Confidence — Many of my clients feel “out of step.” I help them shift from self-criticism to curiosity and self-compassion. You’ll learn to stop asking “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking “What do I need to thrive?”
  • Strategy & Planning — Once clarity is there, we build realistic, concrete plans. Whether it’s a career pivot, job search, organizing daily life, managing energy and focus, or rethinking long-term goals — I coach you step by step.
  • Reconnect with Purpose & Joy — I help you rediscover what energizes you, what values or aspirations may have been overlooked, and how to integrate them back into your life or career in a sustainable way.

My Background & Why It Matters:

  • I worked for many years in global organisations: trained as a lawyer in Germany, worked in the UK as CEO of a not-for-profit, then served as Secretary-General of a major international publishing association based in Geneva — navigating publishing, copyright / licensing, policy, human rights, international governance, and global digital transitions.
  • That experience exposed me to high-stakes complexity, diverse teams with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and deep structural challenges — and taught me what it takes to steer through uncertainty and change with self-awareness and confidence.
  • After leaving policy work, I trained as a hospice volunteer (“accompagnateur des personnes en fin de vie”) and transitioned into coaching and training, bringing all that lived experience — professional, personal and existential — to support others.
  • I speak German, English, and French — and coach internationally as well as locally in Geneva.

I Can Help You With

  • Making sense of neurodivergence (or “feeling different”), harnessing it as a strength rather than a limitation
  • Rebuilding confidence, self-acceptance, and resilience when traditional workplaces or social norms haven’t “fit”
  • Navigating professional or personal crises — layoffs, burnout, lost direction, identity shakiness
  • Career transitions, job search, or redefining success on your own terms (particularly for mid-career professionals)
  • Developing practical strategies for job hunting that focus on showcasing your strengths, not hiding your so-called weaknesses
  • Clarifying values, rediscovering passions, building fulfilling lives aligned with what truly matters to you
  • Developing practical habits, focus, structure, time & energy management — in a way that works with your wiring
  • Strategizing next steps: whether career-wise, personally, or in life direction
